Where Ayurveda fits in a modern treatment plan
Ayurveda is most useful when it is one part of a coordinated plan rather than a replacement for it. Here is how our two departments decide together.
Read morePoliclinic House is a day clinic where Ayurvedic physicians and general practitioners consult under the same roof and write into the same file. You get a plan that accounts for everything you are already taking — not two opinions that never meet.
Policlinic House opened in 2014 with six consulting rooms and one rule: an Ayurvedic practitioner and a general physician treating the same person should be able to read each other's notes. Everything else — the departments, the laboratory, the therapy wing — grew around that.
Today the clinic runs six departments across two floors, with an in-house laboratory and four dedicated Panchakarma therapy rooms. Roughly 120 patients pass through the OPD each day, and daily bookings are capped per doctor so consultations are not cut short.
We are careful about what we claim. Some conditions respond well to combined care, some are better referred on, and we would rather tell you which is which at the first visit than after the fourth.
Four of our most-requested services. Each begins with an assessment, and each ends with a written plan you take home.
A structured first visit: history, pulse and prakriti assessment, and a written plan you can actually follow at home.

None of them are remarkable. Together they are the difference between a clinic you tolerate and one you return to.
Every physician and therapist on our floor is registered with their respective council, and their credentials are displayed at reception.
Ayurveda and modern medicine share a single patient file here, so treatment decisions are made with the full picture in view.
Every visit ends with a written plan in Nepali or English, including what to do at home and when to come back.
We cap daily bookings per doctor so consultations are not rushed and waiting times stay reasonable.
Therapy rooms are cleaned between patients, linens are single-use, and sterilisation logs are audited monthly.
Consultations are available in Nepali, Newari, Hindi and English, with interpretation arranged on request.
I trained in Ayurveda in a decade when patients were often asked to choose a side. They would take a prescription from one clinic and a preparation from another, and neither practitioner knew what the other had written. The person in the middle carried the risk.
Policlinic House exists to remove that gap. Our physicians sit on the same floor, review difficult cases together on Sunday mornings, and write into one file. Where classical Ayurvedic treatment is the better route, we take it. Where it is not, we say so plainly and refer you onward.
What I ask of our team is simple: explain the plan until it is understood, keep the promise small enough to keep, and treat the person in front of you as someone with a life to get back to.
